Cyber essentials certification
Cyber Essentials is an official UK wide, government-backed certification that helps companies guard against the most common cyber threats and reduce risk by at least 95%. It also allows us to demonstrate our commitment to cyber security to prospective customers.
Cyber Essentials certification indicates that our organisation takes a proactive stance against malicious cyber attacks. In addition, it offers a mechanism to demonstrate to customers, investors, insurers and others that we have taken the minimum yet essential precautions to protect our organisation against cyber threats.
The National Cyber Security Centre states that undertaking the Cyber Essentials certification process and implementing even one of the five controls required by Cyber Essentials can protect businesses from around 80% of attacks.
Additional benefits of the certification include:
- Reassuring our customers that we are working to secure our IT against cyber attack
- Attract new business with the promise we have cyber security measures in place
- We have a clear picture of our organisation’s cyber security level
- Some Government contracts require Cyber Essentials certification
