We were very pleased to host some of the students and staff from Blackpool and The Fylde College this week for our Apprentice Open Day at Addison Precision with the aim of encouraging young people and exposing them to the manufacturing and engineering industry.
The day included presentations from Managing Director Mark Verdon and one of our current apprentices, getting to know what it is we do at Addison Precision and the industry we work in. Plenty of words of wisdom were shared with the students about the differences between college and the ‘world of work’ and the expectations of employers plus the culture and ethos surrounding it, allowing valuable Q&A opportunities.
The students also enjoyed a tour of the facility and a 5 axis machine demonstration, plus lunch in the sunshine !
We very much enjoyed their company and hopefully they took something away from the day in order to inform and help them with their future career decisions.
