Due to increasing demand for specialist piping analysis support, we are seeking experienced Pipe Stress Engineers to join our approved contractor network on an ad hoc basis, providing support to projects as workload dictates.
This opportunity is ideal for independent consultants and PSC contractors seeking flexible assignments whilst working on technically challenging projects across a broad range of industries.
Workscope
Undertake pipe stress and flexibility analyses, assess piping systems against relevant industry codes, and provide practical engineering solutions to support project delivery.
Assignments may range from short-duration design reviews through to full project support during FEED, detailed design, procurement and site implementation phases.
Services to be Provided
- Pipe stress and flexibility analysis using CAESAR II software.
- Assess piping systems for sustained, thermal, occasional and dynamic loading conditions.
- Review piping layouts, isometrics and 3D models.
- Develop and review pipe support philosophies and support requirements.
- Produce stress reports, calculations and technical recommendations.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and client specifications.
- Support design reviews, HAZOP close-out activities and engineering assurance processes.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and clients.
- Respond to site queries and construction support requests where required.
- Participate in project meetings and technical reviews.
Skills and experience Required
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
- Significant experience in pipe stress engineering within process or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, EN 13480 and relevant piping and pressure systems regulations.
- Proven experience using CAESAR II.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Experience within chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, energy or nuclear sectors.
- Knowledge of pipe support design and specification.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration is desirable.
- Experience working within engineering consultancies or EPCM environments.
