Addison Precision are recruiting for CNC Machinists / CNC Turners for both day and night shifts in our state of the art facility in Thornton-Cleveleys. You will join an established team working on a range of products for clients in various sectors. We operate a busy workshop where we constantly invest in our machines, ensuring we are at the leading edge of technology.
The Role
- To confidently Set & Run various CNC Lathes.
- Produce components in line with the machine “work to lists” with minimum supervision.
- Use Fanuc/Mazak controls and programs.
- Up/downloading part programs from a dedicated DNC system.
- Follow component route cards and sign off against individual operations via Inspection stamping.
- Read 2D technical drawings along with all GD&T tolerancing & datum requirements.
- Use of both metric & imperial hand metrology measuring equipment for the use in in-process inspection, use of CMM equipment in some situations.
- Work to a “First Off” process including sign off against Inspection data cards.
- Use standard cutting techniques, speeds/feeds and carbide cutting tools.
- Interpret work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to a 5S approach to work area organisation.
- Maximise the machines performance and utilisation and holding tight tolerances.
- Work with a range of technically challenging raw materials, such as Inconel & Titanium’s.
- Work within AS9100 – ISO9001 environments as standard.
- Complete all tasks as per Addison’s Quality Management System.
Person Specification
- A team player who can prioritise workloads and work with minimal supervision.
- Suitable and relevant experience as a CNC Turner – Time served (preferred but not essential) proficient in all areas of the roles and responsibilities mentioned above.
- Able to set & operate numerous CNC Lathes utilising Fanuc/Mazak controls.
- Experience to include but not limited to, the setting/running of bar feeder/live spindle tooling/y-axis/Twin Spindle/Twin Turret configurations of machine.
- Experience in the Aerospace/Defence/Industrial Bearings sectors preferred but not essential.
- Experienced in working within AS9100 – ISO9001 environments as standard.
- Attention to detail is imperative in this role as is a right first time attitude.

- Salary – Competitive hourly rate plus bonus
- Hours – 4–10-hour shifts
- Rota – Mon-Thurs
- Overtime: @ 1.4 standard rate.
- Holidays 20 days + 8 stat days rising to +1 day per annum to a maximum of 25 days.
