Due to the award of more projects we are recruiting for a piping / mechanical designer to join our head office engineering team in Thornton-Cleveleys. This is a permanent staff position offering the opportunity to develop your career within a forward thinking company.
The Role
Working within our piping / mechanical design team and as part of the wider design engineering team you will work on a range of UK based projects with the chemical/petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and manufacturing sectors. You will be a part of the team from day one and will actively be involved in project meetings and review sessions where your experience and skills be valued.
You will have experience of Plant 3D and be fully conversant with all aspects of discipline design and checking. Duties will vary from project to project however you can expect to be completing 3D model development and reviews, preparing isometrics, general arrangements, pipe support schedules, checking and back drafting along with modifications of P&ID’s and layout drawings. Where applicable you will attend client meetings and if required site meetings and surveys.
Person Specification
- Demonstrable experience using Plant 3D for onshore UK based projects (Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas)
- Demonstrable experience working within an inhouse engineering design team
- Suitable and relevant piping mechanical design experience
- Ability to work in our office 4/5 days per week in Thornton-Cleveleys
